We know how stressful a kitchen remodel can be. The people who come into our showrooms are already feeling it before they’ve made any decisions or really have gotten a grip on the costs involved. But at the end of the day, it is still people buying from other people and establishing that connection with one another.

While it’s fairly obvious that kitchen design needs to include space for all things cooking, it is not always so obvious that the kitchen is not JUST for cooking. What else goes on in there?

Don’t be fooled by the room size! Bathroom remodeling is a tricky endeavor that must be approached with the same great detail and care you would towards any remodeling project. Here are a few things we have learned from our own bathroom remodeling work that we can pass along to help:

A green bathroom is more than just being an eco-friendly space. It is the color many people are choosing to paint their bathrooms in. The rise in use of green color palettes has been growing rapidly according to studies done by the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA).

When it comes to using in tile in your bathrom, consider mixing tile sizes and looks. Large tiles tend to make a bathroom or shower appear longer. Smaller tiles provide detail and in some cases a focal point for your bathroom space.

Another GOP presidential debate is in the books. And much like the wide-reaching choices in candidates, the wide-reaching choices for the right cabinet color or finish for your kitchen remodel are no less daunting, confusing or in some cases…downright terrifying. It becomes a true “residential” debate to find the right cabinet color or finish.

How many of us design the kitchen with our kids in mind? We’re busy in the kitchen and all of sudden a little hand goes up or tugs on our apron asking to help. How sweet! Regardless, when we are in the kitchen we want them close by anyway, whether it is just to keep an eye on them or get them involved in a meal or other baking project.
