An important and simple thing to consider while designing your kitchen floor plan is….how many cooks do you have? Just me! Just me!

Now retired designer Anne Hinte, formerly of Reico Kitchen & Bath’s Springfield, VA kitchen and bathroom showroom, was given the opportunity to work with a large 33’ galley kitchen space.

According to recently released survey results from members of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), here is a quick look at the most significant trends for kitchens and baths in 2013:

In 2012, Reico Kitchen & Bath recycled 406,940 pounds of kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, laminate, cardboard, paper, cans, bottles and metal. This was a 101% increase over the 202,840 pounds we recycled in 2011.

Sometimes a little inspiration is all you need to get started on a kitchen remodeling project. How many of us design the kitchen with our kids in mind? We’re busy in the kitchen and all of sudden a little hand goes up or tugs on our apron asking to help. How sweet!
