According to recently released survey results from members of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), here is a quick look at the most significant trends for kitchens and baths in 2013:

In 2012, Reico Kitchen & Bath recycled 406,940 pounds of kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, laminate, cardboard, paper, cans, bottles and metal. This was a 101% increase over the 202,840 pounds we recycled in 2011.

Sometimes a little inspiration is all you need to get started on a kitchen remodeling project. For one lucky person, that inspiration may have come in the form of a new pink Kitchen Aid mixer courtesy of Reico Kitchen & Bath’s drawing, held for consumers signing up on via the Reico website for our quarterly newsletter.

Trying to decide on a new kitchen faucet? My family recently replaced our old kitchen faucet with the new Moen MotionSense kitchen faucet. The hands-free functionality of it really impressed us, but not as much as it impressed the youngest member of our family.

We know how stressful a kitchen remodel can be. The people who come into our showrooms are already feeling it before they’ve made any decisions or really have gotten a grip on the costs involved. But at the end of the day, it is still people buying from other people and establishing that connection with one another.

While it’s fairly obvious that kitchen design needs to include space for all things cooking, it is not always so obvious that the kitchen is not JUST for cooking. What else goes on in there?

There is so much to consider once you decide you are ready to remodel your kitchen. Choices in kitchen cabinets, kitchen appliances, kitchen countertops, kitchen sinks, faucets and more! Then you are looking at kitchen design styles and kitchen design trends from magazine, on smart phones and tablets, or on TV. It can be overwhelming!

Don’t be fooled by the room size! Bathroom remodeling is a tricky endeavor that must be approached with the same great detail and care you would towards any remodeling project. Here are a few things we have learned from our own bathroom remodeling work that we can pass along to help:
